| Finally, I can breath a sigh of relief after this past week and a half of hell. After working on 5 essays consecutively in a row plus a 3 day long Japanese midterm, my brain has temporarily shut itself down and is running a system diagnostic for the next few days (in other words, I need a break and I need one BADLY!). Though I'm caught up in assignments and doing pretty well for being my last quarter with extreme senior-itis, I've been lagging behind on reading T.T. And despite a slight breather, again I apologize, I've still been unable to update as often as I desired to because there has been too much going on despite my time of temporary liberation. Most of these events are just a blur in my mind and seriously I don't remember one funny, interesting event from another. Anyway, as always I will simply post only the more noteworthy events, in other words the ones with pictures since those are the only ones I remember anyway, and briefly list any other miscellaneous info as I sit fit. Once again I apologize, and always, I hope the things I post up here will serve to be an entertaining break from the rest of the dullness and stress of daily life. Ganbatte!
Miscellaneous News: -Ah man, Dexter's Gravekeeper deck is definitely keeping in par with my experiment version 1 Gadget deck. We are even standings right now, but after a few new adjustments, I'm hoping to tip the scale in my favor, since both of us are planning to take these things to the tournaments, and then it's on to Battle City!
-OMG I'M GRADUATING SOON X_X What life has in store is yet a mystery...But as this quote says, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that’s why they call it the present." -Eleanor Roosevelt. I need to worry about the now, move on from the past, and look toward the future is the optimistic hope that things will turn out fine in the end. :) -LOL NEWS: So we played the funniest prank after class one day. While we were leaving from EA120, a bunch of us decided it would be hilarious if Ariel acted like he was dead/unconscious in his wheel chair and we were a bunch of jackasses/mafia men/suspicious kidnappers that were dragging him around. Lol, our LOL experiment turned out to be EPIC! Hahah, we had so many dirty looks and as one of my co-workers who saw us performing this said, her roommate was about to call the cops on us but luckily she recognized me and knew it had to be some sort of joke. The best part was when we left him in the middle of Ring Road and pretended to head off to class without him xD. Ah man, let the good times roll!
-MORE LOL NEWS: Check out this motivational posters! xD
And now to the pictures... May 7, 2008 So today our ever growing Gurren dan decided to take out Norie-san from our Nihongo class to karaoke. While Jade and Emil and Dexter headed off to their own endeavors, Calson, Norie, Roy and his 2 friends, David, Kenji, Ariel, and I headed down to Ding Dong Dang to sing a myriad of international songs: ranging from English to Japanese to Korean to Spanish songs hahaha. After we went to get some delicious pho, but some drunk Vietnamese guys ruined the atmosphere when they decided to brawl with each other...sigh... Tonikaku, Picture Time! ^_^x The Gurren Dan singing their hearts out

| As a journalist, I have failed to uphold my duty to update this often with stories, pictures, thoughts, etc. For that, I am sincerely sorry. It just seems that this quarter, despite being my last full quarter, is going to be extremely busy. After all, the remaining requirements I have before graduating are all my upper division English classes, thus leading to a series of long, time-consuming, tedious essay writing sprees. But, managing to cram a lot of homework the last few days, I have finally caught up on all that I needed to do, yet with three midterm essays left, and a Japanese midterm coming up, this week and next weekend look to be quite dreary as well.
And before I start, I would like to thank all those who remembered my birthday from the bottom of my heart. And I especially extend my gratitude to those who put in the effort to make it feel a little more special. And yes, I have just turned 22, though to me, it's a bit anti-climatic since 21 is suppose to be the "let's get him pissed drunk" age. Ah well...I suppose special days like these start losing their specialness as the years go by...
Anyway, again it's been a blur of memories of all the fun things that have happened, and since I did not write a memo or anything, I'm afraid a lot of good memories, funny stories, awesome jokes and lines, and so forth are not remembered. So, I shall write what I can remember (which I think is one event so far since I have pictures for it).
Last Saturday (4/19/08) was probably the first time I bought an entire booster box for Yu Gi Oh (the only time I've bought an entire booster box was with Calson and Beto and Jofre for Magic the Gathering). Because of Dexter, I have finally brushed the dust off my old Yu Gi Oh decks and I am planning to get back in it, serious mode. I already have a gadget deck set up, here's the deck list (if you happen to be an expert please comment some fixes): and yes it's a Cyber-Gadget deck (Oppressionless Gadgets) Monsters (19) 2x Red Gadget 2x Yellow Gadget 2x Green Gadget 1x Cauis the Shadow Monarch 1x Raiza the Storm Monarch 2x Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer 2x Cyber Dragon 1x Snipe Hunt 1x Exiled Force 1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole 2x Banisher of the Radiance 2x Blue Thunder T-45 Magic (15) 3x Shrink 1x Limiter Removal 2x Hammer Shot 2x Enemy Controller 1x Monster Reborn 2x Lightning Vortex 1x Smashing Ground 1x Heavy Storm 1x Brain Control 1x Fissure Trap (9) 3x Solemn Judgment 2x Bottomless Trap Hole 2x Dimensional Prison 1x Mirror Force 1x Torrential Tribute TOTAL: 43 Cards Sidedeck (15) 2-3x Protector of the Sanctuary 2-3x Dark Bribe/Magic 2-3xKinetic Soldier Divine Wrath?
Ah man, I really can't wait to finish this deck. Anyway, I still need to come up with a side deck but that can be figured out later.
In anime news, Hayate no Gotoku episode 52, even though a bit weird, had a really good ending, and I am definitely waiting for the 2nd season. I still have many more series to watch and download, (esp. Shakugan no Shana second which is just sitting on my hard drive). Awww...chibi Nagi is so cute ^_^
With the ending credit music playing with this scene, I almost shed a tear ^.^ It was a really good ending. I <3 Maria I loved the credit flashback-remember this is how it all started? ^_^ I hope so T.T
Anyway, here's the one event I remembered: April 16, 2008 Today Dave, Kenji, Roy, and I planned to go to Riverside to watch Mythbusters with Tanya, Drew, Michelle, and my UCR friends. Unfortunately, after our all-you-can-eat sushi dinner, when we got to UCR commons, we discovered that the event had already filled up as early as an hour earlier. So we took a stroll around my old campus (man it is SOOO different from what I last remember, and especially since the new student commons is up). After that Drew and Tanya headed back to Orange while the rest of us stayed and just chilled. It was still a lot of fun even though we didn't get to see Mythbusters ^_^x. Kenji about to get raped by Hamtaro X_X
Everyone bow to the giant Hamtaro x_X Everyone bow to the giant Hamtaro x_X (part 2) Errr...words escape me at this moment... Tanya looks on with disgust at the above taken picture... OMG GIANT SUSHI NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM! OMG GIANT PEEPS NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM! SHANA EATS GIANT SUSHI AS WELL NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM! So we had some Yogurt at Swirls...which oddly looked like an exact copy of Yogurtland in Irvine X_X And poor Roy, we almost forgot about him, so he had to run after us without his shoes on ^.^
And that's about it for now. I don't remember much else, except Wayzgoose being pretty fun, and working at parking doing Lot U shifts being fun as well. Alright, I'll try to update whenever I can, but if not I apologize ahead of time. Hopefully after midterms things will settle down enough where I can journal it up more properly. Until then, mata! ^_^
Oh yeah and listen to the album below, it's really interesting how they punk up a bunch of contemporary songs (Like "Umbrella"). And if you have time try to listen to the mash-up of Sweet Home Alabama with Nelly's "Country Grammar", it actually fits REALLY well together ^_^
| Since spring break began, I've felt myself becoming increasingly exhausted as the days go by...This isn't good, considering it is the beginning of a new quarter. Sigh...
I really wish I could write with the same elegance as some of the authors I've been reading...but alas, I resort to the simple journal+picture structure as always (it's better on my time constraints and mind as well...need to save those creative juices for my brain stretching E101W and E102B classes T.T). Anyway, sorry I haven't updated in awhile, I tried remembering all the fun memories from spring break until now, but a lot of memories are just a blur...
March 27, 2008 So upon Roy's desire and request to get "wasted" at least once during spring break, under the kindness of Kenji, we held a party over at Kenji's apartment. Though we invited many people via facebook, alas many lived too far away to come, had other plans, or didn't check their facebook and thus didn't see the invite. But all in all, it was pretty fun with the seven of us who did come (David, Kenji, Roy, Jade, Emil, Nina, and me). Haha...it was pretty funny, because as anyone will remember, I kept saying over and over "I'm not drunk, I'm not drunk" then shortly after I fell asleep in drunken bliss...Kenji decided to take a picture of that...-_- thx Kenji... The non-drinkers :P enjoying the party in their own ways (and Nina being shy around the camera)
Roy, Kenji, Emil, and I gathered around for our little drinking game
Roy a little red after some drinks, and I'm not really sure what Jade is creepily staring at...X_X And yes...here it is -_- asleep after a few drinks...
March 28, 2008 Lol...so after yesterday's party, I had another one, but it was for my nuna, Sharon's farewell party (she's headed off to Florida). I'm just glad to know we'll keep touch over the internetz as well as, she'll come and visit here and there (during summer vacations, etc.). Good luck out there! :) I guess the cool thing about the party was playing poker with the guys (man I was top 3 T.T before I lost it all to the kicker card) and seeing a lot of old high school peepz from Ox"nerd"ford Academy. Party people starting to trickle into Heshan's place :) a lot more people came half an hour after this picture was taken. AH man the food was SOOO delicious, my mom's Korean bulgogi was a smash hit ^_^ Oxnerdians :) Sharon, Heshan, Stephen Tabaquin, me I'll miss you nuna :(
March 29, 2008 Well it was definitely an awesome way to end spring quarter ^_^x, went down to Riverside to do an MTG draft with Beto, Jofre, and some of their other friends. Man, our first draft took forever hahahahaha...but it had the best cards: opening Thoughtseize, profane command, Garruk Wildspeaker, etc. Pretty awesome. Well I ended up 3rd out of 6th for that thing, and then 2nd for the other two drafts Jofre, Beto, and I held after. In the end for 26$ I was really happy with these two cards I got:
March 30, 2008 Haha, it's been awhile but Soon, John Lee, and I did our ritual Sunday lunch meeting. Ah man delicious Thai food, good company, great conversations=awesome. After lunch, John came over and I got him hooked on Gurren Lagann ^_^, go watch it if you haven't seen it yet!!!!!
And yeah, that was pretty much spring quarter in a nutshell. Since school started, it's been tons of fun with my Nintendo DS R4, going over to Roy and Dexter's apartment for Rock Band and Super Smash Bros Brawl, hanging out with Nina, hanging out with the Gurren dan, etc. I'll try to bring you more pictures, stories (including a new literary style we concocted), etc. soon! :)
| Yes, indeed, spring break IS here, but alas all too bittersweet as a week will surely fly by. With work negating some of the 7 total days, it is our decision...nay...our DUTY to make the most out of this short bliss...this brief fantasia before the harsh realities of Spring Quarter makes rubbish all that we had worked so hard to achieve.
Random Made-up Fan: So Alex, how was finals week (after all you didn't update since 10th week) and how is spring break? Great question! All will be answered by gazing at my online journal below. I hope to see you, my readers, in some of these pictures. If you're not in them, well gimme a call and let's go hang out and make some awesome memories! ^_^x
FINALS WEEK: March 19, 2008 Taking a short break from memorizing a ****load of kanji and grammar points, our ever growing Gurren dan, headed over to Rumi's farewell party. Indeed...it was a day none of us knew how to feel, as we were losing a very dear, good friend of ours (returning to Japan after a few fun quarters with her). She will be missed dearly! But of course, no friend of ours is left behind, and I plan to visit her when I get to Japan during winter. Matte kudasai!!!!~ IKE!!!!!!!!!1111 Tomodachis 4 eva!!!! @ Rumi's graduation :) GANBATTE RUMI CHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 20, 2008 (F-Day=Final's Day) After much studying, we finally packed up our gear, loaded our mental cartridges with 50 caliber rounds of kanji, grammar, and vocab, and began to trek towards the shores of Humanities Hall for our Nihongo 2B final. Of course, no shiken sensou (exam war) is complete without a LAST SUPPER (for breakfast at Pippins). Getting out all of our anxiety, despite the explosive rounds of impending doom going off everywhere and the bullets of doubt zipping above our helmets, we had ourselves a pretty awesome time. AND I FRICKING LOVE WAFFLES! If you know where this from, I give you 10 eprops for it :) Isn't it awesome?! Although we really could've been looking over more vocab... 2nd Class Lt. Jade, 1st Class Private Kenji, 1st Class Private Emil, and Sargent Dexter Special Intel Officer David Private First Class Francis, Communications Officer Ariel, and Sargent Roy LOOK! Tairiku! Now to zip forward to spring break, it's only been a few days, but a fun few days at that :) March 22, 2008 Today was the JSA (JCP) Picnic at Turtle Rock. Though Jade and I got there extremely late, we managed to meet up with Calson and Ai Monika over there. It's been 3 years, but haha, amazingly Jade, Calson, and I actually hung out AT A PARK! DOING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES! MITE!!!!~ CALSON PLAYIN FRISBEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! JADE PLAYIN FRISBEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tonikaku, I was especially excited to also get THIS: IT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!! I <3 GIR! And then the night ended with some awesome JCP partyin ^_^x Ariel's bro on the far left, Ariel next to him, Kenji, and Jade (enjoyin some chips) PPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
March 24, 2008 Today was a lot of fun too ^_^x. Jade, David, and I, bored, met up with Nina after her work to chill with her at some Sam Woo's and to watch Disney's Ratatouille (I think I spelled it right X_X). OMG PART 2!!!! MAMEGOMA OMG ITS SO CUTE LOOK AT IT ITS A MAMEGOMA LOOK AT IT WITH YOUR EYES (Nina ver)
